A Poland man was cited with causing a four-car accident in the parking lot of Giant Eagle after he fled the scene of a hit-skip, police said.

Michael Yazval, 24, was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center on Sunday after township police said he flipped his Ford Escort while attempting to flee from another accident.

Yazval told police he side-swiped a car on Doral Drive and drove away because he didn’t have a valid driver’s license. He said the next thing he remembered was his car being upside-down in the Giant Eagle parking lot, off Doral Drive.

A witness told police she followed Yazval after he hit the first car and saw him jump a landscape curb in the parking lot and hit a second car, flipping his own car onto its roof as it struck a third car.

She said she got out of her car to help Yazval, and he told her his steering wheel possibly locked up.

Yazval was cited for driving under a suspended license, hit-skip on private property and operating a vehicle without maintaining reasonable control.
