Don’t hesitate to plan special event downtown

Downtown is a place to celebrate

We would just like to share with everyone the treasure that we rediscovered in downtown Youngstown. After not attending an event at the Warner Theater since the late 1960s, my family had the privilege of working with Jane from Edward W. Powers Auditorium (Youngstown Symphony) and Katie from Overture/DeYor for my daughter’s wedding. They were absolutely wonderful to work with; their professionalism and ability to accommodate our wishes made the task of planning the event enjoyable.

We truly have a wonderful venue in our downtown area. The Edward W. Powers Auditorium is so rich with history and beauty. It was truly a magical evening surrounded by the elegance of the Grand Lobby, enriched with the food prepared by Jeff Chrystal’s catering, and the courteous, helpful security provided by the Youngstown Police Department.

We would recommend to anyone planning a special occasion to consider Edward W. Powers Auditorium or its Beecher Flad Pavilion and experience this gift passed onto us from the Warner Brothers and the Powers family.

Where’s the crime?

If any charges are to be filed concerning the raid at Cat Ladies Society, they should be filed against the so-called “humane agents” conducting the raid. To take 80 cats from a no-kill shelter and kill 64 of them is beyond unjust; it is criminal as well as heart-wrenching.

Focus on the real abuse going on around us, not the people who were truly trying to help the innocent victims of this outrageous act.
