Author of 17 novels to be dinner speaker

Lisa Scottoline, author of 17 novels, will give a presentation at the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County’s Literary Society dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the main library, 305 Wick Ave.
Attendees will receive Scottoline’s newest novel, “Think Twice.”

Man accused in theft of copper tubing
YOUNGSTOWN
Police arrested a man in a break-in at the Paramount Theater building.
David E. Brown, 42, of Youngstown is accused of taking 80 pounds of copper tubing, which he had in a gym bag, police said.
Capt. Michael Vodilko arrested Brown on Monday near the building on the northeast corner of West Federal and Hazel streets.
Medicare basics

Immunization clinic

An immunization clinic for children will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. next Wednesday at Niles City Health Department, 34 W. State St. No appointment is necessary. You must have your child’s immunization records.
Children should be feeling well, with no illness, fever or rash. Children younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Stroke education

The group for stroke education for caregivers and survivors meets every Wednesday from 6:30 to 7 p.m. in the nursing unit at Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital, 8747 Squires Lane NE, next Wednesday and Oct. 13, 20 and 27.
A living-with-stroke support group meets 2:30 to 4 p.m. Oct. 7 and the first Thursday of every month in the board room at Hillside.

Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital, 1350 E. Market St., will have Diabetes Day group classes from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and 1:30 to 3 p.m. next Wednesday and Oct. 7.
