Fitch, Spartans move up in ranks

Austintown Fitch and Boardman’s football teams were the beneficiaries of some important victories last Friday.

The Falcons (5-0), who defeated Canton GlenOak, 43-21, moved up three places to No. 2 in the Division I, Region 1 standings in the OHSAA computer ratings, released on Tuesday.

Boardman (3-2), which knocked off Massillon Perry, 19-13, is No. 6 in Region 1, after not being in the top 12 last week.
