Fall foliage tour will explore Kinsman area
KINSMAN
The 2010 Trumbull County Farm Foliage Tour from 1 to 5 p.m Oct. 10 will provide visitors with an opportunity to view the colors of fall and to experience various forms of agriculture in the Kinsman area.
All the tour sites are within easy driving distance of one another and are easily accessible off State Route 7 or Kinsman Pymatuning Road. Brochures may be picked up at each stop or in advance at Trumbull County Agriculture Center, 520 W. Main St., Cortland.
Tour stops will be made at the following sites:
Miller Livestock Company, a family farm where Aaron and Melissa Miller, who are devoted to raising food in a sustainable, humane manner, raise grass fed beef and lambs, pastured pork and free range laying hens.
Pine Brook Alpaca Farm, operated by Dennis and Jacque Piper, where visitors will see baby alpacas and learn about processing alpaca yarn.
Kinsman Fire Department, where fire equipment can be checked out and where hungry tourists can purchase lunch or a snack.
Rainbow’s End Farms, an informative stop where Deerfield Farm Services operates a grain and elevator business.
Harnett Heritage Tree Farm, a plantation of black walnut and black cherry trees owned and operated by Dr. David and Shayne Harnett as an alternative to grain farming.
There will be no smoking at all stops, restroom facilities will be available, and visitors are asked to leave pets at home.
