The Ohio Housing Finance Agency launched its Restoring Stability initiative Monday and will begin disbursing $320 million for foreclosure-prevention efforts. The funding, administered by the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Hardest-Hit Fund, was allocated by the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act. Ohio homeowners who are at high risk of foreclosure may be eligible to receive foreclosure-prevention counseling and other assistance through the initiative. Homeowners may begin submitting applications online at www.savethedream.ohio.gov or by calling 888-404-4674.

Oil, gas leasing

A seminar on oil and gas leasing in the Marcellus and Utica shales will take place Oct. 14 at 9 a.m. at the Dutch Village Inn, 150 E. State Route 14. The seminar, hosted by the law firm Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell, will focus on legal matters related to oil and gas leasing. Admission is free, but reservations are required, and space is limited.
