Public flu clinic
Transfer Pa.
Edgewood Surgical Hospital will offer a public flu clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 4 at the hospital, 239 Edgewood Drive Extension.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends an annual flu vaccination as early as possible.
People at greatest risk for contracting the flu, and therefore highly recommended to receive the vaccine, include those age 50 or older, those with conditions that might compromise lung function, health-care providers or those employed by health-care facilities and those with chronic pulmonary, renal, hepatic, hematological or metabolic disorders.
Edgewood’s flu vaccine is the annual flu vaccine and not the H1N1 (swine-flu). More information may be obtained by calling 724-646-0400, or visiting Edgewood’s website www.edgewoodsurgical.com.
