YSU LIVE | Penguins beat SIU 31-28

In the first big statement game of his coaching career, YSU's Eric Wolford sent a message to the rest of the Missouri Valley Football Conference: "We're back."

The Penguins beat two-time defending conference champion Southern Illinois 31-28 in front of more than 17,500 fans on Saturday afternoon at Stambaugh Stadium.

It was the third straight home win for YSU and its first win over the Salukis since 2006.
