concert for kolya | Sunday benefit


Who: Nicholai “Kolya” Denykin, a 10-year-boy from Russia who was born without legs. The Rev. Kathryn Adams, director of Youngstown State University’s Protestant Campus Ministries, met Kolya in 2006 when she led a To Russia with Love volunteer-in-mission team to the Renewal Orphanage in Dimitrov, Russia. The Rev. Mrs. Adams, who has spearheaded 17 mission teams to orphanages in Russia, and the To Russia with Love mission team is an extension of PCM.

What: Benefit concert featuring Edward Bak on piano and John Camuso, tenor. A free-will offering will be taken; money will go to buy prosthetics for Kolya.

When: 3 p.m. Sunday.

Where: Westminster Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Drive, Boardman.

Sponsors: Youngstown Orthopaedic Associates Inc., WYSU 88.5 FM and To Russia with Love nonprofit organization. Gary Sexon of WYSU will be master of ceremonies.
