Warren man left ‘critical’ by gunshot wounds
Staff report
WARREN
A city man in his early 20s was in critical but stable condition late Friday at St. Elizabeth Health Center a few hours after he was shot multiple times in the parking lot behind the ACOP Center, 2051 Niles Road SE.
Police interviewed wit- nesses and are piecing together what happened during the 2:15 p.m. shooting, said Detective Wayne Mackey. Any additional witnesses should call Mackey at 330-841-2684, he said.
ACOP sits on the edge of the Trumbull Homes public-housing complex, but Mackey said he doesn’t know if the shooting was related to the complex or whether the victim lives there.
About one-third mile farther east, on the other side of the housing complex is the Willard K-8 campus of Warren city schools. Mackey said he didn’t notice any students in the area of the shooting while he was there investigating.
