Poland students named AP scholars
Fourteen students from the Class of 2010 and three from the Class of 2011 at Poland Seminary High School have earned the designation of Advanced Placement Scholar.
There were recognized by the College Board for their achievement on the college-level AP exams.
Jennifer Fedor, Madalyn Hochendoner, Karen Krumpak, Shannon McCreary and Stephanie Pogacnik, all from the Class of 2010, qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.
Jared Ankerman, Jordyn Grzelewski, Megan Hirschbeck, Ariel Holovatyk, Eric Jones, Marissa Mediati, Jessica Singh, Samantha Stilson and Hillary Tanoff from the Class of 2010 and Brendan Higgins, Lidia Mowad, and Stacia Ruse from the Class of 2011, qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP exams with scores of 3 or higher.
The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program provides students the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school and to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both, for successful performance on the AP exams.
About 18 percent of the more than 1.8 million high school students worldwide who took AP exams performed at a sufficiently high level to merit the recognition of AP Scholar.
Students took AP exams in May 2010 after completing college-level courses. The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on student’s performance on AP exams.
