YSU group collects blankets for hospital

YOUNGSTOWN

A Youngstown State University group is asking for blankets.

The Student Social Work Association is conducting a blanket drive for Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley now through Oct. 29.

The organization’s president, Stephanie Caruso, said the group has 35 members who arrange food drives, toy drives and other fundraisers throughout the year.

Blankets must be new, as Caruso said the children receiving them have compromised immune systems.

New blankets can be dropped off only on campus at Cushwa Hall on the third floor, where a cardboard box is waiting outside Room 3030A.
