Spartan band performs for elementary students
Neighbors | Shaiyla Hakeem .Students from Market Street Elementary showed their school spirit Tuesday by yelling when their school was called over the loud speaker. Boardman elementary schools challenged each other to see who could make the most noise.
Neighbors | Shaiyla Hakeem .Boardman elementary Semi-Sweethearts performed a dance routine to, "Shake your Groove Thing" with the Spartan Sweethearts and marching band Tuesday. The Semi-Sweethearts were taught the routine during a three-day camp in June.

Semi-Sweethearts, who learned a dance routine from the Spartan Sweethearts over the summer, were invited on the field to perform to the song, “Shake Your Groove Thing.”
Semi-Sweetheart Lanny Kilpatrick, from Market Street Elementary, enjoyed dancing on the football field. She wants to be a Spartan Sweetheart when she gets older and said she is trying to decide what instrument she wants to play once she gets to fifth-grade.
“It was really fun,” Kilpatrick said. “We got to dance by the band!”
