Police: Boyfriend set up home-invasion

SMITHTON, Pa. (AP) — Police say a woman’s boyfriend set up a home-invasion robbery in which the suburban Pittsburgh woman was bound for 10 hours and shocked twice with a stun gun.

State police arrested 31-year-old Michael Traynor on Thursday along with two alleged accomplices, one of whom is a part-time police officer.

Investigators say Traynor hired 36-year-old Brian Buchman and 26-year-old Heather Young to break into the house last week, tape her up in the basement and steal jewelry and electronics. The duo allegedly used a stun gun on the woman and left her bound until Traynor arrived and freed her the next morning.

Stowe Township police say Buchman, of Pittsburgh, has been a part-time officer there for two years.

All three suspects are jailed unable to post bail.
