National Museum Day to include stories, history of Arms Museum

The Arms Family Museum will join participating museums and cultural institutions nationwide for the sixth annual Museum Day on Saturday.
Visitors who present an official Museum Day ticket will receive free admission to the museum, 648 Wick Ave.
Visitors to the Arms Family Museum will learn about the Arms family and Greystone, their 1905 Arts and Crafts-style home, and will see a collection of the original furnishings.
The museum also has several exhibits including The Valley Experience, a telling of the development of the Mahoning Valley; The Story of My House, a look at the Arts and Crafts movement and its influence on Olive Arms; The Mahoning Valley Collects, which includes collections of dolls, armaments, photography equipment, postcards and political memorabilia; On Air, a history of broadcasting in the Valley; and Life on Film: The Photography of Paul Schell.
Museum Day tickets are available at www.smithsonian.com/museumday. Visitors who present the official pass will gain free admission for two people to participating museums and cultural venues. Tickets are limited to one per household. Links to participating museums also can be found on the website.
