Police are investigating two Wednesday evening break-ins in which the victims were assaulted and robbed.

The first occurred on Woodland Avenue Northeast about 5:30 p.m. when a 54-year-old man watching television said a young man he thinks he knows came to the door with a woman and used the telephone.

The man pulled a knife and placed it against the victim’s ribs and back and kicked the homeowner, according to police reports.

The suspects took a flat-screen television and two telephones. The victim had no serious injuries.

At 7:30 p.m., a 55-year-old South Feederle Drive woman said two young women broke into her apartment through a locked screen door and punched her several times in the head and body, leaving minor injuries to her face and arm. She refused medical treatment.

The two women ransacked the apartment, but nothing was reported missing, according to police.
