Storms cause damage, power outages in W.Pa.

PITTSBURGH

Fast-moving storms have caused power outages, downed trees and damaged some buildings in western Pennsylvania.

The storms blew through Pittsburgh just after 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Some power outages were reported south of the city, and there were some trees down across the area. Allgheny Power reported several thousand customers without power.

There were also reports of fires caused by lightning.
