The death of a 72-year-old Columbiana man was an accident, township police said. Elmer Burbick died Monday when his tractor tipped over on an incline, pinning him underneath. He had been working on a Knauf Road property in Green Township. Green Township firefighters responded to the call.
Fall cleanup planned
YOUNGSTOWN
The Youngstown Litter Control and Recycling Department is having a citywide fall cleanup Saturday. The event starts with a rally in front of the Covelli Centre box office at 8 a.m. Participants are asked to register between 8 a.m. and noon. While there, participants will receive free trash bags, gloves, T-shirts and bottled water. More than 700 volunteers participated in the city’s spring cleanup.

EAST LIVERPOOL
The East Liverpool Police Department has identified three people injured and killed near 1126 Avondale St. at 2:38 a.m. Wednesday.
A woman found dead on the porch of the home was identified as Andrea Foster, 22.
Rachel Wilcox, 22, was found inside the doorway at the house. She had been shot and was flown to an undisclosed Pittsburgh hospital. Steven Youngblood, 25, was found one block south of the house. Police said he died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police have said Youngblood had children with Wilcox.
Police said they had no more information on the investigation.
Fall plant sale
YOUNGSTOWN
The Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens will have a fall plant sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. A variety of woody plants, shrubs, roses and trees, and an assortment of mums will be available. Bulbs for fall planting also will be for sale. Included in the sale is Narcissus, Fellows Favorite. This daffodil is named for Fellows Riverside Gardens and is available only at the gardens.
Sewer-plant funds
KINSMAN
The Trumbull County commissioners office received about $9.3 million in federal grants and loans for improvements to the Kinsman Township waste-treatment plant. The U.S. Department of Agriculture awarded $4.29 million for the work and a $5 million loan.
The money will “help more than 350 residential and commercial users in Kinsman Township upgrade outdated water and sewer systems that will provide safe drinking water, attract new businesses to the area and keep water and sewer rates affordable for residents,” said U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, a Democrat from Avon who helped obtain money for the project.
