Township administration and safety officials will have a Community Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the township administration building, 8299 Market St. The free event will showcase fire trucks, police cars and a medical helicopter. Hot dogs and cotton candy will be available.

Children’s activities will include face-painting, Silly Bandz giveaway and a inflatable moon bouncer.

Choir to sing at mall

Sunday at the AwwwMazing Place, The ROCcK Children’s Choir will sing and welcome anyone who might want to be a part of the choir from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Eastwood Mall. The only requirement is a love of music and a desire to help others.

The ROCcK Children’s Choir is a nonprofit group of kids age 3 through 17 who are cancer survivors, siblings and those touched by cancer. They perform at local Relay For Life events, children’s hospitals, Hospice and nursing homes. They also conduct a “Kids helping Kids” tour on the days they are excused from school and in the summer.

The foundation charters a tour bus to carry the choir and parents to various locations to raise and inspire hope in many. Last year, the choir went to hospitals and children’s camps in Indiana.

Missing boy found

Police said a 12-year-old boy who was reported missing at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday was found three hours later at a friend’s house.

The boy, who lives on Mathews Road, did not get off his school bus, police said.

Domestic assault

A woman is charged with domestic violence and aggravated assault after she hit the father of her baby with her car, police reported.

Police said Robin Ifft, 27, of Youngstown hit Derek Sharpe outside the Mahoning County Department of Job and Family Services on Oakhill Avenue.

Sharpe told police he flew over the hood and scraped his arm on the pavement.

Sharpe and a witness told police Ifft also came at their car with a hammer.

She was arrested in a traffic stop at Mahoning Avenue and Hogue Street, police said, and was taken to the Mahoning County jail.
