Youngstown

Youngstown police arrested three juveniles who are accused of throwing rocks at cars traveling on Interstate 680.

Youngstown Sgt. Ismael Caraballo said the minors, two boys and a girl, including a brother and sister, are accused of throwing large rocks at passers-by on I-680 between Steel Street and the Bella Vista Avenue bridge just after 8 p.m. Thursday.

He said police know of at least six cars that were damaged as a result. No injuries were reported.

Caraballo said the juveniles were charged with vehicular vandalism, a fourth-degree felony. They were taken to Mahoning County Juvenile Justice Center and held over night, Caraballo said.

The minors’ names and ages weren’t released Thursday night.
