Trumbull County gets $9.3 million for sewer plant

The Trumbull County commissioner’s office received about $9.3 million in federal grants and loans for improvements to the Kinsman Township wastewater treatment facility.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture awarded $4.29 million for the work and a $5 million loan.

The money will “help more than 350 residential and commercial users in Kinsman Township upgrade outdated water and sewer systems that will provide safe drinking water, attract new businesses to the area, and keep water and sewer rates affordable for residents,” said U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, a Democrat from Avon who helped obtain money for the project.
