Service to eulogize former 911 director

The Trumbull County commissioners will have a memorial service at 1 p.m. Oct. 3 for former Trumbull County 911 director Michael Dolhancryk, 67, who died at his home in Florence, Ky., July 13, after a lengthy illness.

Commissioners hired Dolhancryk in fall 2006 to oversee the county’s dispatching operation. The center dispatches for the county sheriff’s office and many of the townships and villages in Trumbull County, plus the city of Cortland.

Dolhancryk’s family from Kentucky will attend the services, which will be at the county 911 center, 911 Howland- Wilson Road NE in Howland.

Services will include the VFW and a possible fly-over by Medi-Stat helicopters, weather permitting. Dolhancryk was a Vietnam War veteran and served 28 years in the Air Force, National Guard and Army Reserve, retiring in 2003.

The Johnston Fire Department will provide two tents in case of inclement weather.
