Radiothon, funfest to benefit Akron Children’s Hospital

Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley will host the second annual “Miracles and Promises” radiothon Thursday through Saturday at the Beeghly Campus, 6505 Market St., in Boardman.

From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday the radiothon will be broadcast live on Mix-98.9 and 570-WKBN from the main lobby of Building D. The event will be promoted on Clear Channel stations including BIG 106.1, 93.3 the Wolf, and 95.9 Kiss-FM.

Featured during the radiothon will be stories about local patients who have received services from Akron Children’s Hospital, and Mahoning Valley services and programs will be spotlighted.

All proceeds from the “Miracles and Promises” radiothon will benefit local children and families in the Mahoning Valley.

In conjunction with the radiothon, Walmart will sponsor a Children’s FunFest at the campus from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. There will be free health screenings, face painting, temporary tattoos, a Teddy Bear (or doll) clinic, a scavenger hunt, craft and coloring stations, a Bounce Around, Air Bear, pony rides, games, prizes. food, cheerleading demonstrations and kids’ karaoke. There will also be a bucket raffle.
