Feds claim biggest heroin bust in Ohio
CLEVELAND (AP) — Federal prosecutors in Cleveland say an undercover bust has netted 44 pounds of heroin in what they believe is the biggest seizure of the drug in Ohio history.
Twenty-four suspects face charges including heroin possession and drug trafficking in an indictment unsealed today.
The government is seeking nearly $2 million in confiscated cash and the forfeiture of homes in Cleveland and suburban Cleveland Heights, Shaker Heights and Solon.
The top federal prosecutor and the head of the FBI in Cleveland and the city’s mayor plan to detail the case during an afternoon news conference.
