Texas father accused of killing his 3 children

HOUSTON (AP) — An attorney says a Texas father accused of shooting his three children to death had previously threatened to kill or hurt himself if he lost visitation rights.

After Mohammed Goher’s two daughters and son were killed Sunday, authorities say Goher shot himself in an apparent suicide attempt. He was in stable condition at Ben Taub Hospital in Houston.

Goher is divorced from the children’s mother and a Harris County Sheriff’s office statement said he had court-ordered visitation rights.

Those rights were to be the subject of a court hearing later this month.

Attorney Syed Izfar represented the three children in the divorce hearing and told the Houston Chronicle that Goher “loved his children” and threatened to hurt or kill himself if he lost visitation.
