Spouse: Walter J. Collins. They were married in 1935 in Wheeling, W.Va. He is deceased.
Children: Sally Collins (Ronald) Snyder of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Janice Collins (Thomas) Pallante of Girard.
Grandchildren: 9.
Great-grandchildren: 14.
Education: Indiana State Teacher’s College, then received her bachelor’s degree from Youngstown University.
Employment: Teacher at Braceville and McDonald elementary schools. She was a schoolteacher 45 years and began in a rural, one-room schoolhouse in Pennsylvania.
Church membership: Trinity Lutheran Church in Girard.
Club membership: Girard Seniors.
Activities: She enjoyed golf and bowling well into her 90s. Now she plays cards with the Senior Ladies Group.
Celebration: Party at Enzo’s restaurant in Warren with family and friends on Aug. 9. Among those in attendance were her daughters and their husbands, and all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Guests came from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina and Florida for the occasion.
