Weinsteins mark 60th year of their marriage

Jerry and Theresa Weinstein of Boardman celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family and friends at Johnny’s restaurant on Aug. 12.

Mr. Weinstein and the former Theresa Kunder were married Aug. 12, 1950, at St. Joseph Church on Wick Avenue in Youngstown.

Mr. Weinstein was a World War II Merchant Marine. He entered three days after graduating from South High School.

The Weinsteins have three daughters: Jean (Michael) Long, and Amy (Chuck) Wohman, all of Boardman, and Lori (John) Herbers of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Mrs. Weinstein worked at Wester Fuel and Supply Co. in Youngstown and retired to raise the couple’s children.

Mr. Weinstein retired from Ohio Edison’s Niles Generating Plant after 34 years of service. He held the position of mechanical maintenance supervisor.

The Weinsteins have seven grandchildren: Michael, Timothy and Nicholas Long, all of Boardman; Jamie and Megan Clayton of Florida; Matthew Clayton of Boardman; and Brian Pribble of Oklahoma City.
