Jazz ensemble kicks off series

YOUNGSTOWN

The Dana School of Music Jazz Ensemble will be featured in the first performance of the new Jewish Community Center Cultural Arts Series at noon Tuesday in the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane. The performance kicks off a new partnership between the JCC and Youngstown State University’s College of Fine and Performing Arts. The ensemble will perform big band favorites. Admission is $10 ($7 for JCC members) and includes lunch. For reservations, call 330-746-3251, ext. 195.

Harvest Days

EAST LIVERPOOL

Harvest Days will be Oct. 2-3 at the Pioneer Village in Beaver Creek State Park, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. both days. Blacksmiths and a weaver will be demonstrating, and the schoolhouse and grist mill will be in operation. Ballroom dancing

The Youngstown Jewish Community Center is offering a ballroom dancing class for beginners. The basic steps to the Cha Cha will also be taught.
