SENIOR CITIZENS | Meetings, activities announced


55 Plus Club of Mineral Ridge will meet at noon Tuesday at St. Mary Church. Snacks will be provided for lunch, and members will dine out after card games.

Holy Family Seniors will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the parish center. Use the youth center entrance. Jennie Nethers will preside, and there will be bingo, cards and a 50-50 drawing. Sandwiches, snacks and coffee or tea will be served. Hostesses are Kay D’apolito, Millle Chopp and Rose Colella. New members are welcome. Holy Name Seniors will meet at 1 p.m. Sept. 26 in Founders Hall with Mary Calai presiding. Agnes Phillips will collect $2 for attendance, and Marge Bada, Wilma Kutlick, Mary and George Skebo and Larry Phillips will serve as hosts. Entertainment will be raffles, bingo and cards. No affiliation with the church is required.

Keenagers of Third Baptist Church will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. On the agenda is the election of officers for the new church year 2010-2011. Refund checks for the canceled Lancaster trip will be handed out. The group will discuss the date and time for the Christmas party.

Liberty Friends will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Liberty Presbyterian Church for cards, fellowship and games. Members are to take a sack lunch; coffee will be provided. All are welcome.

P.E.R.I. 18, Public Employees Retirees Inc., Mahoning Chapter, will meet at noon Oct. 5 at the I.T.A.M. on Meridian Road, Youngstown. Free flu shots will be given before the meeting to any member who wants one. A money raffle will take place. On the buffet menu are baked chicken, scalloped potatoes, green beans, salad, rolls with butter, coffee, tea, and pumpkin pie. The cost is $9 for members, associate members, and guests, payable at the door.
