Roths celebrate 50th anniversary in New York state

CANFIELD
Mr. and Mrs. Ward Roth Sr. of Canfield celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 20 and 21 at the Chautauqua Institute in Chautauqua, N.Y.,
The trip was an anniversary gift from their children, Ward Roth Jr. and Stephanie Wilson, both of Austintown, and Courtney Cruz of Canfield.
The couple have four grandchildren, George Wilson Jr., Chassidy Roth, Dominic Cruz, and Olivia Cruz; and one great-grandchild, Kennedy Wilson.
The former Margaret Werden and Mr. Roth were married June 11, 1960, at Austintown Community Church, where a reception followed the wedding. They are members of Old North Church.
Mrs. Roth retired in 1977 from Packard Electric. She volunteers as an ombudsmen for the Area Agency on Aging for retirement/nursing homes in the area.
Mr. Roth was a crane operator for 41 years at Copperweld Steel, and he has been a truck driver for Aim NationaLease in Girard since 2001. He is a member of Argus Masonic Lodge 545 in Canfield, is a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason in Youngstown, is a member of the Al Koran Shrine in Cleveland and an AA sponsor for 34 years.
