Pink Ribbon event set for Saturday
Staff report
WARREN
The fifth annual Pink Ribbon Run/Walk is Saturday. It is sponsored by Trumbull Memorial Hospital Foundation to raise awareness of breast cancer and raise money that benefits the hospital’s oncology fund.
Participants can choose either a one-mile course or a certified 5K course depending on their individual fitness level. Walking, running and something in between are all accepted and encouraged.
The course begins at the bridge of Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital, 1350 E. Market St., and winds through residential areas nearby. Top finishers in the various distance and age categories will win prizes.
Participants can pre-register for the race until Wednesday for $10 or register the day of the race for a $12 donation. The race begins at 8 a.m. and the first 600 individuals registered will receive a free T-shirt. To register or for additional information, call 330-841-1900.
The foundation raises money to provide the hospital with the latest, most-advanced medical equipment and to defray the cost of treating the area’s uninsured or underinsured patients.
