Day of nostalgia, family trip marks Costellos’ 50th
Mr. and Mrs. Michael Costello
CANFIELD
Michael and Barbara Costello of Canfield and their family celebrated the couple’s 50 years of marriage with a unique, activity-filled day on June 26 hosted by their children and grandchildren.
The festivities began when a limousine bus picked up the entire family in Canfield and traveled to several areas of Cleveland and its suburbs. They visited the houses the couple grew up in, the house where their children grew up, the church where the couple were married, the hospitals where the children were born, and other places that were special to the family in the early years.
The limousine returned to Youngstown, and the family visited the house where the children were raised.
An evening dinner party took place at Drake’s Landing. Afterward the couple’s grown grandchildren had a grandchildren’s sleep-over, just as they had when they were small. The family gathered for breakfast in the morning.
The couple’s children are Terry and Staci Costello, Dino and Robin Costello, and Carla and Mark Buchenic, all of Canfield, and Tina (Costello) Guido of Pennsylvania. The couple’s fifth child, Michael Costello, is deceased.
The Costellos have 10 grandchildren: Tara, Michael, Ashley, Anthony, Ricky, Matt, Tyler, Kaylee, Alec, and Gage.
Mr. Costello married the former Barbara Jucks on Aug. 27, 1960, at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Willowick, Ohio.
Mrs. Costello previously worked in the family’s used-car business. She works part time at Send it Packin’ Plus and Home Instead.
Mr. Costello retired in 2007 after 55 years in the automobile business.
They are members of the Conneaut Boat Club.
