Connie Randolph, a resident of Salineville, Ohio, and author of a children’s book, “Casper Joe,” will sign copies of the book from 4-7 p.m. Sept. 30 at Eat’n Park Restaurant, 8051 Market St.

In the book, puppy Casper Joe is adopted and has a happy life. But when he gets sick, he has to be brave at the veterinarian’s office.

Reservations are still available for the Library’s Literary Society’s event featuring New York Times best-selling author Lisa Scottoline at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Main Library, 305 Wick Ave.

Scottoline is the author of 17 novels. Her latest is “Think Twice.” Scottoline’s novels have made all the major best-seller lists, including The New York Times, according to her bio on her website, www.scottoline.com.

Scottoline also writes a column for the Philadelphia Inquirer titled “Chick Wit,” her funny take on life from a woman’s perspective.
