Sue Kuderca was recently named the new manager of surgical services at Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley. The surgical-services department is to open in October. Kuderca has 32 years of experience, having served as a registered nurse, assistant clinical nurse manager over cardiac, vascular and thoracic surgery at Northside Medical Center and director of surgery at Salem Community Hospital. Before joining Akron Children’s Hospital, Kuderca was a staff nurse in the operating room at the Surgical Hospital at Southwoods in Boardman. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Youngstown State University.
Mark Gardner, an orthopaedic surgeon, has joined UPMC Horizon’s medical staff and the practice of Parkside Orthopedics– UPMC. Gardner, who specializes in total joint arthroplasty and sports medicine, will see patients at his office in Hermitage, Pa., as well as at the Greenville Medical Center-UPMC and the UPMC Specialty Suite in New Castle. He earned his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and recently completed an orthopaedic-surgery residency at Humility of Mary Health Partners in Warren and Youngstown.
Sima Suler, a family-practice physician, recently joined UPMC Horizon’s medical staff and the staff of Horizon Family Medicine–UPMC. Suler, who is based in Sharpsville, Pa., earned her medical degree from the Medical School of Sarajevo in Bosnia and completed a family-medicine residency at Memorial Hospital in Johnstown, Pa.

Home Savings and Loan has announced the hiring of James Priebe as a senior mortgage loan consultant. He will be responsible for providing mortgage loan origination services in the Westlake market area and for developing a loan production team on the west side of Cleveland. Before joining Home Savings, Priebe was a loan officer with Consumer’s Mortgage/The Home Lending Source. He earned an associate’s degree in business administration from Lorain County Community College.
Todd Wade has been named senior vice president and business team leader with KeyBank in Akron. Wade was previously a portfolio and middle-market retail manager with PNC Bank in Akron, Canton and Youngstown. He has also worked as a commercial banker for Firststar Bank and Huntington Bank. Wade earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Akron and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management.
Brad Guess has been named retail manager with the business banking team at KeyBank’s downtown Canton office. Guess was previously a business banking retail manager at Consumers National Bank and Huntington Bank. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Grove City College and an MBA from Robert Morris College. He also has a degree from the University of Wisconsin’s Graduate School of Banking.
