1995 football team gets honored Friday

The Poland Touchdown Club and the 1st & 10 Alumni Club will honor the 1995 football team at this year’s Alumni Game prior to Friday’s varsity football game against Niles.

A pregame tailgate will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the tent behind the locker room on the practice field. All parents and alumni are welcome.

Poland golfers get win against Howland

The Poland girls golf team defeated Howland 169-198 Sept. 8 at Avalon South.

Maria Mancini led the way with a 36, Allison Mitzel carded a 39, Giana DiBenedetto shot a 46 and Natalie Rivello had a 48. Melinda Hannon and Christine Bilas each added a 51.

Lady Bulldogs swing to victory

The Lady Bulldogs golfed their way to a win 167-206 over Lakeview Sept. 9.

Allsion Mitzel and Maria Mancini each shot 35 to pace the squad. Other team scores included Christine Bilas with a 48, Giana DiBenedetto with a 49, Natalie Rivello with a 52 and Rachel Sines with a 59.

Gleydura is fourth in prep cross country

In the high school cross country meet Saturday, Matt Gleydura of Poland had a time of 17:38.6 to take fourth place.

Steelers on 27 this Sunday

WKBN-TV (27) will telecast the Pittsburgh Steelers’ game at Tennessee on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Browns fans can find their game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Cleveland station WOIO-TV (19).
