Friends of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County hosted a puzzle swap Sept. 8 at the Boardman library for jigsaw puzzle enthusiasts of all ages. More than 75 puzzles were up for grabs for whoever wanted to take them.
The puzzles ranged from environmental scenes and portraits to wildlife and historical landmarks. Those who attended were encouraged to bring their once-used jigsaw puzzles to trade with fellow hobbyists. There was no limit to how many puzzles one person could take.
Boardman residents Peppy Nicholson and Ruth Dillon brought more than 30 puzzles to donate to the exchange. They work with each another to put the jigsaw pieces together during their spare time.
“I enjoy putting them together, but hate so see a puzzle taken apart,” said Dillon. “I’m going to start gluing and framing them.”
Puzzle swap began in January and meets monthly. Puzzles that are left over from the swap are sold at the Friends of the Public Library used bookstore located in the Poland library.
The next swap will be held at the Boardman library Oct. 13 at 4:30 p.m.
