Adam Lambert accused of battery

MIAMI BEACH, Fla.

Former American Idol contestant Adam Lambert is accused of simple battery on a photographer on Miami Beach. A police report says 38-year-old Victor Eras was taking pictures of the singer Thursday when Lambert started running toward him “in an aggressive manner.” Eras claims Lambert grabbed his back pack and wrestled him to the ground. The photographer did not suffer any injuries. He declined to comment to The Associated Press on Friday.

No arrests were made. A police spokesman says there will not be an investigation. The state attorney’s office will review the report and decide if any charges will be filed. TMZ first reported the alleged attack.

Morgan Freeman, wife finalize divorce

JACKSON, Miss.

Actor Morgan Freeman and his wife have finalized their divorce in Mississippi. William R. Wright, a Jackson attorney who represented Freeman, tells The Association Press that a Tallahatchie County judge entered the divorce decree Sept. 15. Wright says terms of the divorce are sealed.

Freeman and his now ex-wife, Myrna Colley-Lee, had separated in December 2007 after 26 years of marriage.

‘Borat’ star gets role in Mercury film

LONDON

“Borat” star Sacha Baron Cohen has been signed up to star in a movie about flamboyant rock star Freddie Mercury. Producers say Peter Morgan, who wrote “The Queen,” is working on a screenplay about the frontman of the band Queen, who died of AIDS in 1994. The as-yet-untitled film will climax with Queen’s barnstorming appearance at the 1985 Live Aid concert in London.
