After two abbreviated weeks to start the school new year, the students at Lloyd Elementary survived their first full week of school this past week.

Students left behind fun times at the Canfield Fair, including second-grader Chloe Pruchniewicz’s laughter while watching her dad go down the funhouse slide. And Leah Jones talked of waiting three hours after her cousin entered her rabbit into competition.

The students of Lloyd Elementary are now focusing on the school subjects they’re most excited to learn about in their coming year.

Giovanna Ditts, a first-grader in Mrs. Bonanno’s class, wants to “learn to read chapter books, so I can read to my little sister.”

A few said that gym and lunch were their favorite subjects, but after the giggles died down, most wanted to learn more about math and social studies, with art a close third.

“I want to learn more about the world around me,” second-grader Gavin Batdorff added.
