JCC partners with YSU for series

The Youngstown State University Dana School of Music Jazz Ensemble will be featured in the first performance of the new Jewish Community Center Cultural Arts Series at noon Tuesday in the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane.

The performance kicks off a partnership between the Jewish Community Center and YSU’s College of Fine and Performing Arts.

The Jazz Ensemble will perform big-band favorites. The cost is $7 for members of the Center and $10 for nonmembers. Lunch will be provided.

Other performances in the Cultural Arts Series:

Noon to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at the JCC multipurpose room, YSU Dana Chorale. Lunch will be served. The cost is $7 for members and $10 for nonmembers, which increases to $12 after Oct. 14.

7 p.m. Nov. 2 at JCC’s multipurpose room, YSU Jazz Combos, A Taste of the Arts. Wine and cheese will be served. The cost is $5.

YSU students and faculty may attend the concerts for free.
