Sharon to host Applefest Nationals

The 2010 Applefest Nationals will kick off Friday at 7 p.m. with gates opening at 5 p.m. for FASTRAK Late Models, a $1,000-to-win E-Mod feature and $500-to-win Open Stocks A-Main. The Sportsman, 2bbl E-Mod, Limited Sprints and Hobby Stock divisions will also be in action.
The Saturday portion (Russ King Memorial) will feature the BRP Big Block Modifieds, FASTRAK Tour, E-Mods, $80-to-win Open Stock feature, Stars Mod Lites and Hobby Stocks. Gates open at 4 p.m. with racing at 6.
Nashville recording artist Karli Whetstone will sing the national anthem on Saturday. Each day of the Applefest Nationals will provide racing and post-race entertainment.
On Friday, the band Tripwire will be on stage while Saturday The Beckman Band will perform.
Entertainment both nights will be sponsored by Tom’s Sewer & Septic Cleaning and Portable Toilet Rentals.
On Saturday, the final cornhole tournament will be played. All the past winners from the season will return to see who the grand champion is.
General admission tickets for one day are $13 and $20 for both days. Pit passes for one day will be $25 and $40 for both days. Camping and parking are free.
