Health care career wokshop set

Area residents interested in pursuing a career in health care are invited to attend a free career workshop from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Community Outreach Center in Champion Presbyterian Church, 4997 Mahoning Avenue N.W., Champion.

Registration is recommended and begins at 8:30 a.m. Call Effie Gianoutsos at 330-675-7717.

The workshop offers information on health information technology, medical billing and coding, pharmacy technician, electronic medical records, emergency medical technician and many other career paths.

Participants will talk to health care employers, educators and career pathway representatives. Financial aid information will also be available. New to this event will be hands-on health care career demonstrations.

Northeast Ohio HealthForce is presenting the event in partnership with the Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana County One Stop employment offices, each a division of the county’s Department of Job and Family Services.
