Boardman beats Lake in Federal match

BOARDMAN

Kristy Lake had 21 kills, six blocks, 13 digs and 11 points for the Boardman High volleyball team, which beat Lake 28-26, 23-25, 25-18, 25-23 in a Federal League game on Thursday.

Stephanie Sfara had 16 kills, 12 digs and eight points and Kayleigh Lipke had 10 points, seven kills and five blocks for Spartans (6-3, 3-3 Federal). JVs: Lake 2-1.

Canfield 25-25-25, Mooney 11-17-18

CANFIELD

Abby Malsch had 11 kills, Sabrina Mangapora had nine kills and Hannah Milstead had four kills and five blocks for Canfield (5-2). Chyna Davis led Mooney (6-5) with four kills and five blocks, Laura Boniface had three kills and seven blocks and Christie Pelini had four kills and 13 digs. JVs: Canfield 25-11, 23-25, 29-27.

Struthers 23-20-25-25-15, Champion 25-25-21-17-10

CHAMPION

Ashley Hefferon had 13 kills, 10 points and two aces for Struthers (4-3), while Tokata Dulak had seven blocks and Beth DeSantis 16 digs. For Champion (3-4), Jessica Nicholas had 31 kills, Rachael Horton had 16 points, three blocks and two aces and Ciara Seger had 11 digs. JVs: Struthers 2-0.

Elaine Kelley had 18 points, 10 aces and six kills and Tori Galbreath had 12 points, 14 assists for Lakeview (9-0). Jenna Sewell had three aces and 16 assists and Mindy Dykes had six blocks and six digs. JVs: Lakeview 25-6, 25-10.

Dawn Lingenfelter had 30 points, 10 aces and 10 digs; Kaitlyn Evans had 11 kills and Maris Sarisky had seven kills for Hubbard (5-1, White Tier 1-1).

Maria Thompson had eight digs and Shaylah Barnes had four blocks for Niles (1-6, White Tier 0-3).

Megan Ben had 10 kills, Katie Fife had 11 blocks, seven kills and 10 points and Abby Riffee had 27 digs and 10 points for Ridge (6-0, 6-0 ITCL Tier One). Stevie Taylor had seven digs, seven points and four aces, Ashley Shetter had five kills and Danielle Buzzaco had nine digs for Range (3-7, 3-3).

EAST PALESTINE

Mollie Phillis had five kills and two blocks, Ruth Prosko had 10 kills, 11 digs and two blocks and Katie Chestnut had 18 digs for United (6-2, 5-1). For EP (5-5, 2-4), Ashley Morris had nine kills and 19 blocks, Megan Brown had seven points and six assists and Paige Peterson had six points and 20 digs. JVs: EP won.

Meredith Tirpak had seven kills, six points, two aces and four blocks for Columbiana (5-3, 3-3), while Cassandra Sampson had five kills, 10 points and three aces and Nicole Ray had three kills and five blocks.
