Barnes and Noble in Boardman hosted a summer reading wrap-up party Wednesday for children who love to read books. Over the summer, the book store held several reading activities and events revolving around the 10-part series, “39 Clues.” Each book in the collection is written by a different author.
The first activity of the evening required kids to illustrate a book cover that could be used for their autobiography. They also made bookmarks describing their favorite book.
After discussing the meaning of their book covers, the Barnes and Noble group played board game trivia. Teams of two answered various questions about board games and its rules. Following the trivia game, the teams conducted a scavenger hunt through the store looking for puzzle pieces which held clues leading to the next piece.
The night ended with a ticket drawing for two $5 Barnes and Noble gift cards and a grand prize encompassing the entire, “39 Clues” book collection. This event was open to kids of all ages and free of charge.
