‘Chicago’ is a big-time show

As a patron of the Youngs- town Playhouse for many years, I have never seen anything to compare with the opening night of “Chicago.”

In my opinion, it was worthy of being a Broadway production.

Our community has marvelous talent and the opportunity to display it reflects the future of the Playhouse.

Kudos to the exceptional performers and to the executive director Mary Ruth Lynn and her staff for giving us a delightful evening of music and entertainment. It is a “must see” musical.

Save our money: Ohio roads already have plenty of rumble

When I read the article about ODOT wanting to install rumble stripes on State Roads for a cost of $4 million, I had to look at the date on the page to make sure it wasn’t April 1st.

Apparently these ODOT supervisors haven’t been on some of our state roads, where we already have built in rumble holes known as chuck holes. If driving on some of these “wash boards” doesn’t keep you awake, nothing will. The $4 million should be wisely invested in paving the roads or patching with some good blacktop instead of the one-day Band-Aid they use on chuck holes now.
