MONROE, Ohio

Authorities say three passengers on a chartered bus have been charged with disorderly conduct after fights on the bus and at a southwest Ohio rest area.

State Highway Patrol Lt. Wayne Price says the cause of the fighting wasn’t clear but “they were all highly intoxicated.”

About 34 passengers were on the bus headed back to the Dayton area from Covington, Ky., when fighting started about 2 a.m. Thursday.

Price says the driver ordered everyone off the bus at an Interstate 75 rest area near Monroe, and the two doing most of the fighting continued. He says one later got into a fight with another passenger.

One woman suffered a minor hand injury.
