Task Force arrests Pa. man charged with aggravated robbery in Youngstown
YOUNGSTOWN — The U.S. Marshal’s Task Force arrested Michael Varchulik, 41, of Edinburg, Pa., on a warrant for an aggravated robbery in the city.
The Youngstown Police Department issued an arrest warrant for Varchulik on Wednesday. He is a suspect in an aggravated robbery Aug. 14 at the PNC Bank branch on Market Street. Police say a woman was robbed at knife point while completing a transaction in her vehicle at the ATM machine.
Varchulik also is a suspect in the aggravated robbery of the Angiuli’s Farm Market in Canfield on Aug. 15. A 17-year-old employee was robbed at knife point while working in the fruit stand. The suspect fled with $60 in cash.
Varchulik was arrested after task force members spotted him driving in a stolen auto reported by the Boardman Township Police Department. He also will face felony receiving stolen property charges.
Varchulik was scheduled to be arraigned at 10 a.m. Friday in Youngstown Municipal Court.
