A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:
POLAND
Sept. 4
Arrest: Police pulled over a vehicle on Youngstown-Lowellville Road and arrested 34-year-old Jonathan D. Bodine, 3310 Roseview Drive, Hubbard, on a charge of failure to appear in court.
Sept. 8
Bad check: A bad $343 check was passed at B.Y. Pools Inc., 6549 Struthers Road.
BOARDMAN
Sept. 11
Assault: A West Western Reserve Road man told police a woman threw beer on him, and that he was struck in the groin. The woman said she was defending herself.
Aggravated menacing: An Applecrest Court woman reported a girl came to her residence and threatened to kill her teenage daughter.
Arrest: Jeffrey P. Davis, 38, of 46528 Metz Road, Columbiana, faced charges of endangering a child, operating a vehicle impaired and having an open container of alcohol after police pulled him over on Market Street. Davis had been driving erratically with his 15-year-old son in the vehicle, a report said.
Arrest: A traffic stop near West Boulevard led to the arrest of 21-year-old Katie D. Morar, 7410 West Blvd., Boardman. Morar was wanted on a charge of failing to comply with conditions of her probation.
Assault: Jason R. Davis, 35, of 885 Fairfield Drive, Boardman, was charged after being accused of punching someone twice in the face during a party.
Domestic violence: Jeremiah A. Karow, 21, of 2 Kreidler Drive, Poland, was arrested on South Avenue and charged with the crime after a witness and his girlfriend alleged Davis had jumped on the girlfriend’s back and hit her several times in the face and body.
Theft: A 17-year-old Youngstown boy was charged with theft and being an unruly juvenile after three wristwatches were stolen from Hair Depot, 4026 Market St.
Theft: Police in the 7400 block of Market Street took into custody 40-year-old David Kogelnik, 11610 New Buffalo Road, North Lima. He was wanted on a felony warrant from Stow charging him.
Attempted burglary: Someone tried to enter a home in the 1000 block of Zander Drive through a basement window.
Sept. 12
Drugs: Police in the 8500 block of Market Street arrested 47-year-old Robert W. Angelo, 2746 Winpoint Trail, Poland, and Brittany M. Morgan, 20, of 1061 Perkinswood Drive, Warren, on drug-related charges after saying a suspected crack pipe and a pill bottle with many prescription drugs were in the vehicle.
Drugs: Officers responded to a possible fight on Willow Drive, where they charged 19-year-old Craig A. Douglas Jr., 71 E. Judson Ave., Youngstown, with two counts of drug abuse after saying a bag of suspected marijuana and an unmarked prescription bottle were found.
Burglary: Took place in the 1800 block of Woodlawn Avenue. Stolen were a 96-inch flat-screen TV and a DVD player.
Arson: A man arrived home to his apartment in the 1900 block of Wolosyn Circle and noticed his wood pile on fire near a carport. He also found an accelerant he suspected had been used to start the fire.
Theft: Juliann A. Miller, 28, of 333 Erskine Ave., Boardman, was charged in the theft of $66 worth of women’s clothing from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: Two people were detained after a $25 DVD was stolen from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s windshield was damaged in the 1900 block of Wendy Lane.
Criminal damaging: A car in the 400 block of Flagler Lane was found with a slight dent and a broken taillight.
Auto theft: A 2001 Pontiac van was stolen in the 20 block of Maple Drive.
Sept. 13
Attempted fraud: A Melbourne Avenue couple reported having received a letter claiming they won $4.2 million from a lottery in Europe they had never entered. They lost no money, though.
Theft: A Canfield boy, 17, was charged and released to the custody of his legal guardian after a hat and a necktie were stolen from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.
Breaking and entering: Two license plates were removed from a residence in the 4800 block of Erie Street someone had entered.
Criminal damaging: Erin K. Brannan, 24, of 131 N. Kimberly Ave., Austintown, faced a charge after being accused of breaking a window to a residence in the 7400 block of Westview Drive.
Identity theft: Police booked 41-year-old Teresa N. Toney, 2013 E. Midlothian Blvd., Youngstown, on a felony charge. Toney admitted having used someone else’s checking-account number to pay utility bills over the phone, a report showed.
Arrest: Joseph D. Stewart, 35, of 207 Euclid Blvd., Liberty Township, was picked up on a warrant from Boardman charging him with telecommunications harassment.
Arrest: Officers arrested 51-year-old James N. Waters, 347 Melrose Ave., Boardman, on a warrant charging him with making false alarms, a first-degree misdemeanor.
Theft: A wristwatch and $375 were stolen from a car in the 800 block of Moyer Avenue.
Sept. 14
Theft: Jean F. Tejeda, 19, of 7544 Market St., and a 16-year-old township girl were charged with stealing clothing and cologne from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: Four hair-extension sets were stolen from Hair Depot.
Recovered property: A 2002 Jeep that had been stolen in the New Castle, Pa., area was found at the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: An MP3 player, a duffel bag and other items were taken from a vehicle at a Tiffany Boulevard motel.
Menacing/criminal damaging: A man in the 4000 block of South Avenue reported another man threatened to destroy his home and vehicle, then kill his dog. The accuser also reported the man tossed a rock, striking his car’s quarter panel.
Theft: A worker for a Boardman-Canfield Road business discovered money and other property missing from her purse.
Theft: A bag with an undisclosed sum of money from the Southern Park Mall reportedly was never deposited in the bank.
Breaking and entering: Someone entered a garage in the 70 block of Indianola Road and removed a leaf blower.
Domestic violence: A Boardman boy, 13, faced two counts after being accused of pushing his pregnant sister in the stomach and punching another family member in the mouth.
Theft: Jason L. Womack, 25, of 1425 Forestview Drive, Youngstown, was charged in the theft of four bottles of men’s cologne from Sears.
Stolen property: Authorities responded to someone’s illegally soliciting for money, then charged 41-year-old Derrick G. McIntosh, 209 Carroll St., Youngstown, with receiving stolen property. McIntosh had a bag of merchandise he admitted having stolen from Walmart, police said.
