Free expo to explore arthritis-related topics

The free Trumbull County Arthritis Expo will explore arthritis-related topics, including new medications for pain management, updates on osteoarthritis and joint-replacement surgery from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at St. Demetrios Community Center, 3223 Atlantic St. NE.

The Arthritis Foundation Northeastern Ohio Chapter and University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center are co-sponsoring the expo.

Speakers include Arminda Lumapas, M.D., “An Update on Rheumatoid Arthritis,” Gregory Sarkisian D.O., “Arthritis in the Lower Extremities,” Rachael Lerman, PharmD, BCPAS, “Arthritis and Pain Management,” and Scott Zimmer, M.D., “Arthritis in the Upper Extremities.”

An Arthritis Foundation Exercise demonstration, exhibits, door prizes and refreshments round out the day. The program is supported by educational grants from Abbott and Genentech and Biogen Idec.
