Local author and counselor Marilyn Burns has completed her first book, “Lost No More ... A Mother’s Spiritual Journey Through Her Son’s Addiction.”
Burns, of Boardman, will sign her book from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Flaming Ice Cube, 1449 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman, and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 16 at JMJ Spiritual Connection, 3528 Canfield Road, Cornersburg.
Both stores will carry the self-published book, and it can be bought at Amazon.com.
The book chronicles the struggles and growth Burns experienced after her 23-year-old son, Chris, died of a drug-related heart attack in 2007. Chris became hooked on OxyContin and other drugs after a car accident left him with chronic pain.
