Library schedules crossword tourney

SALEM

The Salem Public Library is looking for crossword puzzle enthusiasts to register for the library’s Crossword Puzzle Tournament from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

It will be in the Quaker Room at 821 E. State St.

The tournament will feature previously unpublished crossword puzzles created by Will Shortz, editor of crossword puzzles for The New York Times and puzzlemaster for National Public Radio’s Weekend Edition Sunday. He is founder and director of both the American Crossword Tournament and the World Puzzle Championship (1992 and 2000). Shortz is the author or editor of more than 400 books.

Registration is required for contest participation. Prizes will be awarded to finalists. For more information and to register, stop in or call the library at 330-332-0042.
